BIO D.E.L represents a kaleidoscope of musical ideas, influences and capabilities.
BIO Nick de la Hoyde is an artist known equally for his brand of honest, unfiltered pop and for his ongoing contribution to the flourishing Sydney music scene. Having begun writing music while playing football in Barcelona as a fledgling, Nick found a voice and a passion in music that would ultimately alter the course of his future, moving back to Sydney to pursue music full time. His music has since gone on to win awards at the IMA’s, be synced to popular TV shows including “The Block” & “Good Trouble” and “Too Hot To Handle” and has enjoyed international radio on powerhouse stations BBC Radio 1, Sirius XM, Nova and playlists including ‘New Music Friday’ USA. Nick has played Rolling Loud Miami alongside the likes of Post Malone, Travis Scott, as well as supported the likes of Kid Ink and Max on his Downunder tour. His music has been covered in media outlets from The Daily Telegraph, Billboard, The Source, Huffington Post, Baeble and seen him partner with brands including Beats by Dre, Red Bull, Seiko, Puma and more. Nick is an ambassador for Suicide Prevention R U OK? and lends his talent as a songwriter to a host of national and international artists on and off label.
BIO The eight five two is an alternative project hailing out of the collective efforts of the four de la Hoyde brothers John, Joe, Nick & Timm. Having spent years of their youth growing up in Hong Kong’s Lantau Island, the boys carry a sense of that identity with them - an association with what it’s like to be a fly on the wall, sponges to new cultures and new ideas. Moving back to Australia, they each found their own way to music, and with various individual achievements under their belt, have come together to explore new musical ideas that have culminated from years of experimentation. Their music feels oceanic, known and yet unexplainable. Yearning vocals tug at a pop sensibility but are drawn away by dissonant guitar motifs and jittering granular synthesis and percussion. Their first EP has been widely received, with plays on Triple J and Unearthed and performances at Sydney’s The Factory Theatre, Chippo Hotel and debut EP launch at the Oxford Art Factory.
BIO When he isn’t creating for other artists, brands or filmmakers, Joseph explores his own sonic palette. From intimate piano pieces to cerebral, visceral experiments with modern computer and analog synthesis, Joseph’s music is about reconciling the inside and out - aesthetic beauty with internal complexity. Joseph also works alongside wife Caitlin on art project Violet Like, an experimental gothic duo that brings together his interests in art, poetry and music.
